The course will focus on the perspectives to improve the ability of animals to cope with environmental stress derived from climate change conditions by using the appropriate genetic tools. It is suggested that adaptation of livestock production to challenging climate conditions will be realized through the redirection of genetic selection objectives and criteria in the current livestock populations. The exploitation of animal genetic resources to mitigate climate change conditions will be emphasized and will be discussed.
