This course includes, among other things, the following topics

Causes of climate change: different potential sources of pollution, industrial sources, agricultural sources, environmental impact, impact on agriculture. Course not currently taught at ISA-CM.

Direct impact of climate change on bovine milk production: variation factors in milk production, used fodder and irrigation water requirements, changes in the area dedicated to fodder, seasonal variations in fodder quality and studies on changes in production costs.

Current state of milk production and the physico-chemical and bacteriological quality of raw milk under the effect of climate change: variation in annual production quantities, evolution of milk production costs, study of the variation in milk quality according to years and seasons.

Milk production and milk quality parameters most affected by climate change: Effect of heat stress on reproductive parameters, variation in the physico-chemical and bacteriological composition of milk in the case of heat stress.

Practical solutions to limit the impact of climate change on the dairy sector: integration of renewable energies into dairy farms, use of non-conventional foodstuffs in cattle feed.
