The climate change concept warns for further water shortages in arid countries. Farms must be prepared to survive with the minimum water quantities. This can be achieved only if we know precisely how much and when to water our crops under the local conditions. The course demonstrates the methodology of the evaluation of water needs using satellite data for the purpose to minimize water inputs. It also present, how a model like AquaCrop allows to improve the irrigation scheduling (under full or deficit irrigation).
