This course includes, among other things, the following topics;
Impact of climate change on crop yields: studies of water requirements of crops used in animal production, effect of water stress on crop yields and food quality.
Current state of availability of food resources for animal production: main food crops used in animal production, study of variations in production costs over the years.
Speculations most affected by climate change by production sector: impact of climate change on production yields and costs, international food price variations.
Impact of increasing food prices on animal products: use rate of imported food by animal production sector, the livestock production sectors most vulnerable to the lack of conventional food, study of how prices of animal products are progressing on an annual basis.
Alternative solutions to reduce the impact of climate change on the sustainability and availability of food resources, integration of renewable energy into production systems, criteria for choosing crop varieties, local natural bio-resources that can be used in animal nutrition.
